根據報導，近來許多國家遭受臭蟲的侵擾，由於國際旅遊往返頻繁，相關衛教及防治宣導，重點如下：
 
(一)檢查清理：
１、自國外回來後立即清洗衣服，並檢查行李有無夾帶臭蟲。
２、二手家具搬回家前先檢查有無臭蟲蹤跡。
３、勤於清理家中環境，減少雜物堆積、減少牆壁隙縫，並檢查床罩、床單、枕頭、毯、床墊的線縫等處有無臭蟲或臭蟲排遺(血液斑)。
 
(二)「曝曬、熱蒸、勤捉、清洗」防治臭蟲四妙招：
１、如果家中草蓆或箱子發現臭蟲，可裝入塑膠袋中並綁緊進行曝曬，袋中溫度超過65℃可防治臭蟲。
２、懷疑有臭蟲的衣物，則可集中裝入塑膠袋中綁緊，避免臭蟲逃逸，然後拿到洗衣機清洗，也可使用熱蒸汽熨斗進行熱蒸防治。
３、善用吸塵器勤捉，有效防治臭蟲，最後手段才使用環境用藥殺蟲劑。
 
(三)環境用藥處理：
１、環境部核准登記用於防治臭蟲之一般環境用藥許可證計6張、特殊環境用藥許可證計2張。
２、民眾選用合法環境用藥，可至化學署環境用藥許可證及病媒防治業網路查詢系統查詢(網址：https://mdc.moenv.gov.tw/PublicInfo)>環境用藥許可證查詢>防治性能：臭蟲。
３、防蟲也要注意自身安全，當臭蟲存在範圍較廣、情形嚴重時，可請合格的病媒防治除蟲公司代為處理。
